A RARE FOREIGN BODY IN THE CHEST UNDER COVID-19 EPIDEMIC CONDITIONS

One of the negative factors civilization around world is significant growth injury rate. The manifestations latter include suicidal acts that occur in process social and individual life. Sometimes people commit suicide because having incurable diseases. Alcohol addiction contributes to risk. To share with general medical community rare case trauma which seemed fatal but resolved favorably, though it was not immediately verified. Only after performing a radiological examination two projections, subject action detected. We observed victim: 55-year-old patient who, being impaired by alcohol, decided learning about COVID-19 mortality. hour later he admitted emergency department. After stabbing himself kitchen knife, called an ambulance delivered satisfactory condition surgical department 1 injury. There were no signs bleeding or its consequences vena cava compression. Hemodynamics stable; there external respiration disorders. Clinical blood test within normal range. Revision wound lower neck performed. At depth 2.5 cm, something perceived as sternal notch located manually, turned out be foreign body. Due location injury, hospitalize injured for observation. Plain lateral radiography Longitudinal sternotomy chosen access. Under entrance neck, mediastinum above root lung, knife found diaphragm penetrating parenchyma lobe. removing lung sutured. postoperative period ended successfully. Before surgery, imaging study at least different views mandatory all chest wounds. If possible, thoracotomy should scheduled daytime.
